Backend Engineer

Comp: $100k - $300k / year + equityWe write a lot of high-performance networking and exchange code as well as classical distributed and cryptographic systems. You would be a core contributor helping design, architect, implement, and optimize core features and product components.Qualifications:- 4+ years backend engineering experience- Very strong systems background - you could pick an exchange, a blockchain, or a similarly complex system and walk a non-technical person through how it works at the lowest level- Low-level systems programming - Rust familiarity- You've built high-performance networked systems - trading infrastructure, exchanges, or comparable- Distributed systems fundamentals - replication, fault tolerance, adversarial correctnessNice to Have:- Trading or exchange domain experience- Kernel / network-stack experience- TEEs (SGX, Nitro Enclaves, etc.)- Applied cryptography / math background- Crypto & blockchain familiarity - light clients, smart contracts, onchain settlementYour Immediate Focus:- Design, implement, and optimize core exchange components - matching, risk, settlement, networking- Harden the system for production - performance, testing, reliability- Contribute to the new financial primitives and market mechanisms we're designing
