Privacy Policy

The short version

  • Your resume file is never stored. It is processed in memory to extract a professional profile, then discarded.
  • By default we never read or extract contact data from your resume: no name, phone, address or links. The AI is explicitly instructed to ignore them. Identity details on your profile exist only if you type them yourself, or if you explicitly opt in to talent outreach (below). In that case we also read your name and public professional links (LinkedIn, website) from the resume. Phone, address and birthdate are never read in any case.
  • You can see everything we hold about you on your account page, edit it, and delete it permanently with one click.

What we collect

  • Email address: to verify your account (magic link / match confirmation) and send you job alerts you opted into.
  • Professional profile: extracted from the resume you upload: summary, skills, work history, education, certifications, languages, experience level, target roles and regions. You can review and edit it on your account page.
  • Your activity on Maneki: saved jobs and computed match results, so they persist between visits.
  • Identity details you add yourself: name, LinkedIn, X, website, location (all optional).
  • If you opt in to talent outreach: your name and public professional links (LinkedIn, personal website) extracted from your resume.

What we do with it

  • Match your profile against the requirements of live job openings and show you why you fit.
  • Send the weekly match digest (only if alerts are on. You can switch them off on your account page or stop anytime).
  • Talent outreach (strictly opt-in): if and only if you check the dedicated consent, your professional profile with your name and public links may be shared with verified companies and talent scouts so they can contact you about matching roles. You can withdraw this consent anytime from your account page; withdrawal removes the extracted identity data.
  • Nothing else. We do not sell your data, and we never share your profile with anyone without the opt-in above.

AI processing

Profile extraction and match evaluation use large language models from AI providers acting as data processors. Resume content is transmitted for processing only, is not stored by us, and per our providers' API terms is not used to train their models. Contact and identity data are excluded from AI processing by design, except your name and public professional links when you opt in to talent outreach; phone, address and birthdate are always excluded.

Where your data lives

Account, profile and saved jobs are stored in our database (Supabase). Emails are delivered via Resend. Session cookies are used solely to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Retention & your rights

  • Your data stays as long as your account exists. Deleting your account removes profile, saved jobs, match results and email immediately and permanently.
  • You can access and rectify your data anytime from your account page.
