👁️About the role
EJARA is seeking a mid to senior-level Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team and take ownership of key parts of our digital product infrastructure. You’ll work across the full stack—helping architect and implement high-performance, secure, and scalable web applications that serve thousands of users across Africa.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-moving fintech startup where your work directly supports financial inclusion and innovation.
⚖️Responsibilities
Lead the development and maintenance of scalable full-stack applications using React.js, Next.js, and NestJS
Architect clean, maintainable, and performant backend services (RESTful and GraphQL APIs)
Contribute to key technical decisions around system design, code structure, deployment strategies, and best practices
Implement secure, efficient data models and integrations with external APIs and third-party services
Optimize web applications for speed, usability, and mobile responsiveness
Write automated tests (unit, integration, E2E) and contribute to our CI/CD pipelines
Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and QA to iterate on features and improvements
✍🏾About You
3+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development
Advanced proficiency in React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript
Strong backend experience using NestJS, Express.js, or similar Node.js frameworks
Solid knowledge of database design and querying using MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
Proficient in modern frontend architecture and state management tools (e.g., Redux, Zustand, React Query)
Comfortable working with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and real-time data (WebSockets)
Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD tools
Strong understanding of web performance, security best practices, and code scalability
Ability to break down complex problems and communicate solutions clearly
Fluent in written and spoken English and French
🌟 Nice to Have
Experience with DevOps, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Vercel), and infrastructure as code
Knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, or serverless functions
Familiarity with design systems and component libraries like TailwindCSS, or Radix UI
Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright)
Passion for user experience, clean code, and performance optimization
