Expansion Lead, Africa

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are expanding across Africa, a strategically important region for cross-border payments and stablecoin adoption. These are foundational hires - we are looking for people who want to build , not just sell.
The role will begin with a strong focus on balancing new business acquisition with long-term account development, and will evolve into broader regional leadership as we expand across Africa.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Development
Map the local fintech, payments, remittance, and crypto ecosystem
Identify priority verticals and cross-border corridors
Define and execute local go-to-market strategy
Provide structured market intelligence to leadership
Represent Codex in relevant industry forums and strategic discussions
Enterprise Sales Execution
Originate and close relationships with fintechs, PSPs, remittance operators, FX brokers exchanges, and institutions
Own the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation, and closing
Engage CFOs, Treasury, Payments, and Product leaders
Structure commercial proposals aligned with client FX and liquidity needs
Account Management & Revenue Expansion
Serve as the primary commercial owner for key local accounts
Drive client retention, volume growth, and corridor expansion
Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Coordinate closely with trading, liquidity, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution
Maintain strong executive-level relationships within client organizations
Monitor client performance metrics and proactively address risks or friction
As Codex scales in the region, responsibilities may expand to include:
Broader regional commercial oversight
Hiring and managing local commercial team members
Leading regional corridor strategy
Influencing product roadmap based on African market needs
REQUIREMENTS
6–12+ years in enterprise sales, fintech partnerships, or commercial leadership
Proven track record closing and managing high-value B2B financial infrastructure or payments deals
Experience managing strategic accounts post-sale
Strong understanding of Nigeria’s fintech and payments landscape
Experience engaging senior stakeholders (C-suite, treasury, payments heads)
