Brand Design Lead
Required skills
Job description
About MagicBlock Blockchains are redefining how value flows around the world, from instant payments and 24/7 trading to verifiable games and agentic commerce. MagicBlock is building the technological foundation to enable every application to run entirely onchain, accelerating a future where value flows seamlessly, freely, and in real time. We are a stellar team of builders backed by a16z, Faction Lightspeed, and some of the best investors and angels in the space.
Role overview
We're looking for a Brand Design Lead with sharp taste and the ambition to define how a category-defining infrastructure project looks, feels, and is remembered. When breakthrough technology meets tasteful design, magic happens. The ideal candidate has obsessive attention to detail, an instinct for what makes a brand feel inevitable, and can span across a wide surface area: from the site and visual identity, to X posts and product UI. While we appreciate experience, we're open to junior candidates: what matters most is taste, drive, and a body of work that proves you can be the next Jony Ive.
Key Responsibilities
Own the visual identity and evolve it into something the industry recognizes on sight.
Ship marketing assets for our launch moments, X posts, swag and developer-facing collateral (hackathons, hacker houses etc..)
Set the design bar internally, push back on shortcuts, raise the floor of everything we ship
Design our product UI, or help other founders shipping consumer-facing products understand how a 10-star experience should look and feel.
Qualifications
A portfolio that speaks for itself: strong typographic instincts, clear visual hierarchy, and at least one project that feels distinctive.
Fluency in modern design tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, design systems, AI tools)
Customer obsession, a growth mindset, and a bias toward action.
High agency; comfortable owning end-to-end work without senior hand-holding on every decision.
Excited by the intersection of brand & technology and willing to operate across these fields.
Bonus if:
You can move comfortably between brand and product design. Most designers are strong in one, not both
You have a side practice (motion, 3D, type, illustration, code, anything really) that shows up in your work.
Benefits:
Competitive cash compensation + stock options (signing bonus & performance-based)
Fully remote, flexible working schedule
Paid offsites, conferences and travels.
Medical, Dental, Vision insurance
Laptop and/or budget for work equipment and tools
